The Rotary Club of Nottingham is proud to once again support the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal, a campaign that holds deep significance for communities across the UK. This year, we had the privilege of assisting by selling poppies at Nottingham’s Victoria Centre, helping to raise vital funds for veterans and their families.
From November 1st leading up to Remembrance Sunday, our volunteers joined hands with the Royal British Legion to offer poppies to shoppers, raising awareness about the importance of remembering and honouring those who have served and sacrificed for our country. The generosity and support from the public have been overwhelming, with every donation contributing to a cause that helps those who need it most.
The funds raised through the Poppy Appeal provide essential services for veterans, including financial support, mental health care, and rehabilitation. For many ex-service members and their families, this assistance is a lifeline, helping them navigate challenges in their post-service lives.
We at the Rotary Club of Nottingham are proud to play our part in such a meaningful campaign. Selling poppies in the heart of Nottingham’s bustling shopping centre offered a wonderful opportunity to engage with the local community, who once again showed their incredible generosity and respect for the Armed Forces.
We would like to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who purchased a poppy, donated, or simply stopped by to offer their support. Your contributions ensure that the Royal British Legion can continue to provide critical care and assistance to veterans across the UK.
The Poppy Appeal is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by so many to protect the freedoms we enjoy today. The Rotary Club of Nottingham is honoured to stand alongside the Royal British Legion in paying tribute to those who have served.
